De: Jun… you appear tired…

Jun: Yes… I spoke to many people… hours, days, I spoke to many different people, but still, the people all still insisted that they know the hearts and thoughts of their gods… the people insisted that they know everything about everything, because their books claim to know everything… I am worn-out…

Alo: I apologize for my grin… De and I, we have been there also… yes, it is tiring…

Jun: After days of my finding no positive results, I then attempted a different approach… I formed my words to create an appearance that the idea of Nature's way would enable a person to become more intelligent, or for Nature's way to give the people more material things… only then did the people express an interest in Nature's way, but the interest was only within the people being given more stuff… the interest was not in the topic itself…

Alo: Yes… greed… it is the way of all of man's systems of belief… there does not exist a system of belief that does not promise material profit for those who believe in the belief…

Jun: True, very true… material rewards in non-material heavens… utopias of vainglory in nirvanas… all of them, bar none, all of the systems of belief prey upon vain people who do not cross-light the obvious… the people all want self-glory, self-puffed-up, self-gain, and absolutely none of the people cared for other people… oh, I am exhausted trying…

Alo: I am curious… what were the people's reactions when your words were interpreted to imply that the people would become more intelligent?

Jun: Crazy… simply crazy… all of the people's eyes widened… all of the people's faces expressed an excitement… the people's body language expressed desires, lusts, greed, selfishness, narcissism… full greed… as if sucking inwardly things that are outward… but no one was willing to exert an effort to earn intelligence... wow, the response was scary to me.

Alo: Ha! Yes, that is a similar response as what De and I witnessed... it appears to be one of the few things that will greatly attract most people... ants are drawn to sweet aromas... and people, are attracted to promises of higher intelligence... the people want intelligence, and a lot of it, but, as you mentioned, the people still will not exert an effort to acquire intelligence... the people, they think that intelligence is a material thing that can be given, or acquired by memorizing words.

Jun: My rubbing my temples does not relieve my stress...

Alo: The ancient writings, they too made use of the people's greed... the ancient writings from all lands, the writings promised materialism and vainglory.

Jun: Now that I have witnessed it myself, now it means more to me... I had heard the words before, but now, now it is personal, a firsthand experience... the experience has greatly influenced me... I now have less tolerance for the outsiders' beliefs... less tolerance, and a heightened need to choose correct thoughts...

Alo: It must be asked... is not the need, to choose correct thoughts, it is not a desire? And is desire not greed?

Jun: Yes, unfortunately, very true... the contrasts showed me the differences, and I wish to choose the better choice, but, still, I admit... the need that I feel inside, it too is greed... just a different kind of greed... it makes me feel ashamed of myself, that I am no better than anyone else who also expresses greed.

Alo: Then you have made yet another step closer... and, now, what could be the remedy?

Jun: All that I can think of at the moment, is to not have greed, but, my mind also tells me very vividly that regardless of which choice I choose, the choice will be wanted... and again, that is greed.

Alo: There is an old saying, that the most difficult thing in life arrives without effort... the saying makes no sense except to those who have experienced it firsthand...

Jun: The more that I want to not be greedy, the more that I express a greed to not be greedy...

Alo: It is actually quite easy... just stop being greedy...

Jun: Ha! That might be easy for you and De to say, but not easy for the rest of us.

Alo: There are self-improvement teachings, that tell people to focus on eliminating the bad things in their lives... to always give effort to fight the bad things and bad thoughts, but, the teachings are all wrong... a person can never stop thinking of a thing if the person is always thinking of the thing... to not think of negative things, it is very easy... simply stop thinking of the negative things... no effort, no struggle, no fighting the thoughts... simply ignore them... walk away, only think positive thoughts, and ignore everything else...

Jun: But is that not also greedy? To choose between positive and negative thoughts?

Alo: No... but it is a thing that a person must become... to not be greedy, it occurs on its own... it is not by choice... the choice, was something different.

Jun: Ingredients... the ingredients create the way... just, become one's self...

De: Yes...

Alo: It is not easy... it may require more effort than anything else in life... the becoming of a way that has no greed, it accompanies the disappearance of the way that was of greed... the old self begins to fade, and the new self begins to flower... being and becoming, it is Nature's way...

Jun: But you do know, that what you said, it sounds as if a religious teaching...

Alo: True... man's ideologies often begin with good ideas, but so quickly fade into greed.

Jun: The choice... the reason... something else there...

Alo: Yes...

Jun: Ha! And neither of you will say what it is!

De: No...
